Our Academy in Hagerstown, MD directly supports our Hagerstown Terminal, where you can potentially be offered conditional employment after graduation.

In order to be a student at the YRC Freight CDL Training Academy, you must:

  1. Be age 21 or over.
  2. Have a current and valid driver's license.
  3. Have a record of safe and competent driving as demonstrated on a state Motor Vehicle Record.
  4. Must be willing and able to obtain a Class A Permit (prior to starting class).
  5. Be willing and able to obtain a Certified DOT Medical Card (prior to starting class).
  6. Meet all requirements to obtain a Hazmat endorsement.
  7. Meet all DOT requirements.
  8. Be willing and able to attend class 40 hours per week for 4 weeks and maintain an acceptable attendance record.
  9. Have a reliable form of transportation.
