This person is also responsible for identifying and understanding carrier’s device roadmap and portfolio strategy, as well as developing areas of product collaboration with the carrier. The person will provide requirements to Global Product Planning and R&D to better align our product roadmap with the needs of the carrier. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for planning the mobile device roadmap and portfolio strategy that is needed to grow Samsung’s business at a major U.S. carrier customer. Drive a vision and deep understanding of carrier customer’s device and services strategy and requirements across all Samsung organizations to ensure alignment around product and account strategy. Secure the ranging or sell-in of all Samsung Mobile smartphone, tablet, productivity, wearable and accessories to one of our major U.S. carrier customers. Understand the competitive mobile device landscape and develop a point of view on the future of the industry and what it means for Samsung and the carrier customers product roadmaps.
Background / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with 10-15 years of related experience. Master degree preferred. Must have 7-10 years of work experience in Product Management, Product Planning or Product Marketing in consumer electronics or related technology industry. Must have demonstrated knowledge and experience with consumer mobile products (smartphone, tablet, productivity, wearables) and the underlying wireless technologies. Requires a broad and deep understanding of mobile hardware and software. Strong understanding of the overall wireless ecosystem is a must, including OS providers, app providers, service providers, OEMs and carriers. Demonstrated success in the negotiation and sell in of mobile devices, apps, software or services to wireless carriers.

Strong technical skills. Must understand the technology behind the products to convey to customer. Must have strong selling and influencing skills with a passion for winning and growing new business opportunities. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to articulate complex product and user experience value propositions to VP/Director levels at carrier customer. Customer focused, high energy, creative, results driven mindset with a “never take no as an answer” approach. Strong appreciation and understanding of mobile device user experiences, and the ability to understand how user interfaces impact consumer preferences and behaviors. Must have a passion for getting things done and proven experience in working across teams in a collaborative way. Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
