Job description
PROJECT CONSTRUCTION ACCOUNTANT
The Project Accountant is an entry-level position at our St. Petersburg, Florida based design-build company which has been in business since 1987. The qualified individual will be trained in the use of a Procore (Construction Management Software) as the primary tool for completing assigned tasks. The Project Accountant is a key part of the project management and accounting functions, and will be responsible for managing all of the accounting administration and contract administration for assigned projects.
Contract Administration

- Create new projects via budget import
- Manage the project contact list
- Create and issue subcontract and purchase order agreements
- Manage Change Event process to facilitate subcontractor and client change orders, including managing Requests for Quotation (RFQ) process
- Manage on-going insurance requirements of subcontractors
- Work with Operations Manager and Project Managers to ensure project budgets are accurate and current

Accounts Payable

- Create vendor records
- Enter job-costed invoices
- Reconcile subcontract and supplier invoices with committed costs
- Create and manage timely receipt of conditional and unconditional lien waivers

Accounts Receivable

- Work with project team to create, submit, and manage client change orders
- Review and follow up with past-due invoices

Skills and Experience

- Strong attention to detail

- Extremely organized and skilled at multi-tasking
- Ownership of job duties
- Willingness to help others
- Fluency in Excel and Word preferred
- A. or equivalent required
- Commercial construction administration experience highly preferred, but not required
