Job description

The successful candidate will assist the 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron, 53d Electronic Warfare Group (53 EWG) at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 53 EWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF). The mission of the 53 EWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.

Essential Job Functions:

The successful candidate will conduct EW research, gather intelligence data, MD development and MD testing.

Assist the B-1 Lead Test Engineer with test requirements, planning, and execution.  

Support the B-1 community by writing and briefing instructional products and leveraging experience to focus mission data development and testing.

Apply operational experience to focus the creation and timeline of mission data products.

Support EW system programming/reprogramming, work with EW system engineers to coordinate programming/reprogramming requirements, prepare validation and verification test plans, participate in ground and flight testing and organize and participate in MD configuration control boards.

Assist with the collection, recording, and post-test analysis of data generated during MD testing.

Office setting that includes sedentary physical effort.  However, may include lifting of weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary

Some travel will be required.

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

A Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited program plus 8 years of experience or a Master's degree plus 6 years of experience is required.

Must be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance within 6-9 months.

Must also have a demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.

Working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written.

Desired Skills:

It is desirable for a candidate to possess attributes to include previous experience with modern digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) programming, RF integration, EM spectrum management, antenna design, digital signal processing and demonstrate a high level of experience in modeling/simulation.

Knowledge of B-1 EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering.

TS clearance with DCID 6/4 within the last 5 years and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) eligibility.

Coding/software development skills.

Master's degree (science/engineering/technical).
