The successful candidate will design and implement equipment installation plans based on user needs, maintain network assets, and troubleshoot network-centric issues.
Essential Job Functions:
The Contractor network administrator shall advise and assist by providing oversight and participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, optimization and documentation of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This includes managing multiple projects, planning network technology roadmaps, and configuring/optimizing network services both internally and those integrated with Internet-based services.
The network administrator will also manage the network servers. This includes application, database, web, email, back-up, VoIP, and other servers. The network engineer will also analyze and resolve network/server service problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide reports, documentation, and training where required.
The network administrator will conduct research on network/server products, services, standards for the purpose of remaining current.
The network administrator will coordinate new construction, remodels, and existing facilities network/server for the purpose of completing designs, planning, purchasing, installation, configuration, maintenance, and testing.
The network administrator will develop, implement, and maintain network/server administrative authorization for the purpose of having policies and procedures.
The network administrator will develop, implement, and maintain the processes and documentation for network/server managements.
The network administrator will manage network/server services and documentation training, physical architecture, quality control, remote access, security, service, service architecture, service records, technical training for the purpose of having effective network/server.
The network administrator will provide excellent customer service onsite and remotely for the purpose of restoring service promptly and to resolve problems.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Current Secret Clearance.
Minimum of two years’ experience managing sophisticated computer networks including five years of software, hardware, and configuration. Note: Position level will be commiserate with years of experience.
Proficient in network design, implementation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Proficient with creating cost and schedule estimates, technical writing, configuration management, and presentations.
Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations.
Must have a working knowledge of computer systems, an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software, and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Must pass drug testing.
Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
With the exception of approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Must perform work activities requiring interaction, negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.
A current active Secret security clearance.
Associates and 5 years of experience with strong network engineering focus Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) CompTIA Network+ CompTIA Project+ or Project Management Professional (PMP) DoD 8570 compliant certification (IAM Level II).
Additional CompTIA certifications (A+, Security+) Windows Server 2012 (or newer) Six Sigma Green Belt or higher OR ITIL Foundations certification Linux Operating System certification (CompTIA Linux+, LPIC-1, RHCSA) IEEE Member.
