Job description

UPS is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Industrial Engineering Access Point Representative to maintain and grow the UPS Access Point Network. He/She interfaces directly with existing and potential Access Point locations to identify business needs and position UPS products and services to meet those needs. This position collaborates with the IE Access Point Supervisor, IE Access Point Manager, and the Access Point Support Staff to manage Access Point contract administration, compliance, and solution implementation activities. He/She proactively works with UPS Access locations for recruiting purposes and continues interaction to grow and maintain businesses within the assigned territory. Responsibilities and Duties

  • Informs and trains Access Point location staff technology solutions (e.g. Access Point Applications device / website)
  • Administers technology solution implementation timelines and action plans to ensure successful implementation
  • Responds to questions, complaints, and inquiries from Access Point staff
  • Advocates and assists Access Point location staff during the implementation process and on service issues
  • Meets personally with Access Point location staff and identifies business needs, leverages UPS products and services, and retains current business
  • Researches competitor strategies and capabilities and identifies ways to position UPS’s products and services
  • Uses knowledge of Access Point location’s business to demonstrate how UPS’s products and services can support and help customers achieve their business objectives
  • Documents relevant Access Point location information in the account management systems to coordinate sales and to maximize business opportunities
  • Notifies Access Point Support staff and systems of changes in account status and Access Point location business hours to appropriately schedule pick-up

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of products, services, and customer facing technology solutions offered by UPS along with their features and business applications; describes general customer profiles targeted by the company
  • Demonstrates a general understanding of ways to identify and measure the current needs of the customer or business; uses the business need to help define the project’s requirements
  • Understands customer’s general business needs and knows the account status; may provide information about accounts for use in planning account strategy
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of a business problem; recommends a solution to solve the business problem
  • Recognizes when customers are having issues; identifies resolution to basic customer issues and recommends solutions
  • Establishes and maintains entry level contacts in customer organizations; builds relationships to further understand customers’ business and objectives
  • Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) - Preferred
