What Cust Profitability / Deal Mgmt contributes to Cardinal Health


Customer Profitability & Deal Management is responsible for being objective and strategic financial partners to the sales organization, leading collaborative cross-functional efforts to drive informed decision-making regarding customer proposals and the corresponding profitability.

  • Partners with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other key functions to create financial models for customer proposals, understand key drivers of profitability, and effectively communicate recommendations to senior management.
  • Performs customer and product profitability analysis
  • identifies opportunities to drive revenue growth, increase profitability, and limit potential risk from future changes in business or product mix.
  • Understands market dynamics and competitors. Conducts complex analysis, synthesizes and summarizes implications to business, influencing business partners using analytics and business understanding.
  • Facilitates the deal approval process to ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and executes upon process improvement opportunities. Demonstrates proficiency of technical tools and financial systems.
  • Serves as an objective financial steward with an enterprise perspective, safeguarding our company's assets. Ensures strong controls are in place and the company's intellectual property is protected.

Accountabilities

  • Strong business partnership to develop customer deal strategy and modeling
  • Advise sales and finance leadership teams including SVP’s, NVP’s, and RVP’s on customer pricing and incentive strategies
  • Identify and implement new pricing strategies and incentives for use in competitive proposals
  • Develop and own complex Financial strategies, deal scoring and T&C impacts
  • Able to develop specific deal offer variables and pitch & negotiate with internal leadership
  • Able to be agile and establish pricing strategies
  • Able to standardize our deal approach, understand all the puts/takes and align value with profitability
  • Model new business and customer renewals
  • Coach various business partners including Sales, Finance and Sourcing teams on overall economic strategy to renew or win business
  • Utilize competitive market intel, and insights to structure deal proposals
  • Design appropriate margin protection to maintain Cardinal Health’s customer level profitability
  • Ad hoc reporting

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years’ experience in related field
  • Experience gathering and documenting data requirements to support analytical solutions
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Ability to work with variety of stakeholders, particularly executives
