Assist in the everyday analysis of submitted samples as well as the development/implementation and validation of new service offerings.
Help to expand testing scope, adapt testing and assessment of current methods for new regulations of restricted substances.
Perform extraction and analysis of samples with complex matrices using GC-MS and HPLC-DAD, ICP-MS, ICP-OES
Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and analysis using analytical instruments such as GC-MS, GC-FID/MS, HPLC-DAD/MS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES.
In-depth knowledge and experience using Agilent GC-MS systems with Chemstation
Ability to work in a fast paced high volume laboratory.
Experience analyzing samples in an unknown and complex matrix.
Have the skills and ability to perform multiple sample analysis at the same time.
Ph.D. degree preferred with 2 years experience in an analytical laboratory through industry or academic exposure - with a focus primarily using Agilent GC-MS instruments (preferred but not required).
Experience with extraction/digestion techniques as well as analytical analysis used to test consumer products for restricted substances, including analytical analysis of samples in complex matrices, i.e. plastics, paints, textiles.
Well organized with sense of responsibility for project and time management.
Necessary to have efficient competency to complete assigned projects on time and follow through with supervisor when necessary.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities through effective resource management.
Excellent Time management skills are required.
Must have a sense of urgency
In depth knowledge of test methodologies associated with regulatory requirements such as CPSIA, REACH, ROHS, CA Prop 65.
Knowledge of government regulations for US and EU testing of consumer products
Familiarity with ISO 17025 requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
