The Purchasing Buyer provides leadership, direction and technical expertise in the procurement of supplies in a centralized environment. This position acts as a liaison between the Supply Chain team and hospital departments. There is a heavy emphasis on administering purchase orders, securing best in class pricing and researching suppliers based on quality, support, reliability, distribution capabilities, reputation and history. Communicates and coordinates with department leadership, clinicians and physicians as needed to maintain cooperative relationships, consistent practices and obtain approval on substituted product and equivalents.
Education Requirements – 4 year degree (Preferred)
3-5 years' experience in one of the following: Purchasing, Financial planning & analysis, Pharmaceutical distribution/operations.
