Responsibilities are to advise, service and maintain laboratory equipment/instrument for the region.
Aid laboratories throughout the United States and beyond as necessary.
Must coordinate with other SGS teams to ensure tasks are achieved with minimal disruption.
Guide, and provided technical training to maintain equipment/instrument operation.
Assist with replacement parts and equipment/instrument purchase.
Profile (Requirements & Qualifications of the position):

A basic knowledge of petroleum, petrochemical testing, and field sampling in an Oil & Gas field is desired.
A strong knowledge of applications such as Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and other commercial software as required.
Must be able to work in the presence of petroleum or petrochemicals without allergic reactions or nausea, when such odors are within all local governmental designated permissible exposure limits.
Read and understand as required any analysis and safety standards in English, including ASTM, UOP, IP, GPA and other industry or internal analytical standards and procedures used in the laboratory or project.
Attend training and pass appropriate examinations in petroleum, chemical and gas analysis, hazardous materials disposal, and other safety and compliance training required by applicable regulations or deemed necessary by management. .
Must be able to travel, often at short notice, via air.
Skills or Competencies
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the job offered (laboratory equipment/instrumentation service) or in a related occupation.
Must have creative problem solving skills to improve processes and process development that will add immediate value to the company profitability and long term success.
Must be able to work with limited supervision, be self-motivated and willing to work unconventional hours.
Presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, both internally and externally.
Ability to gather and review resources and select or reports and other written materials.
Ability to work effectively under pressure, while directing numerous projects concurrently with different deadlines.
High level of accuracy is required, with special attention to details
