Provide Engineering Subject Matter Expertise for U.S. Navy related communications integrations, testing, and certification.
Essential Job Functions:
Support system level designs, installation, testing, and certification in aircraft; assuring system compliance to CNS/ATM communications requirements.
Utilize principles of systems engineering and other engineering disciplines to evaluate, recommend solutions and clarify requirements.
Review conceptual requirements, system specification documents, detailed hardware and software designs for platforms integration communications systems to meet CNS/ATM requirements.
Create and provide technical review of technical white papers and MUOS integration plans.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience required.
Active Secret security clearance required.
Extensive knowledge of ARC-210 Radio Systems.
Experience with software designed radios with Embedded Communication Security (COMSEC) devices.
Thorough understanding of Satellite Communications waveforms used in DOD aircraft.
Knowledge of commercial communications systems certified for compliance with CNS/ATM requirements.
Must have strong Systems Engineering skills with background in one or more of the following areas: (IV&V Lab Test Experience, Operational Test & Evaluation, Aircraft Communication Integrations, Communication Security Management).
Ability to work closely with Program Offices and OEMs to support successful conception, development of sophisticated avionics systems.
Strong computer, oral, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a multi-discipline team, or independently, as required.
BSEE in Electrical Engineering (in the areas of RF communications, networks, computer engineering or associated specialties).
Familiar with Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), Satellite Communications (SATCOM) protocols, SATCOM systems integration, DAMA communications, Integrated Waveform (IW), Link 4A, Link 11, COM Encryption Algorithms, SATURN, HaveQuick, SINCGARS, aircraft bus control via 1553, Ethernet and the Program Loader Set (PLS) used to upload new radio software.
Provide Integration Support for troubleshooting ARC-210 radios on airborne platforms integrating MUOS as a new capability using 1553 and Ethernet bus interfaces.
Experience integrating CPDLC or other commercial data link communications services.
Experience with 1553 bus monitoring and testing.
Experience with NAVAIR SETR processes.
