Job description

The primary responsibilities of the Contract Manager include:

  • Establish a collaborative environment with key suppliers and business partners to manage supplier performance and support long term strategy.
  • Demonstrate strong project and process management in order to execute sourcing strategy with cross functional teams.
  • Track the supplier’s fulfillment and Cardinal Health’s corresponding acceptance of the supplier’s deliverables under the relevant contract agreements working closely with the solution owners who will be responsible for such tracking and reporting the results to the Cardinal Health Contract Manager
  • Assisting with negotiations related to all amendments to the Agreement that are required during the Agreement term
  • Assist with interpretation and intent of the Parties concerning the terms and conditions of the Agreement, the Run and Build SOWs, the Task Orders and the I-SOWs
  • Implement and maintain the contract governance structure and reporting relationship between Cardinal Health and the Supplier
  • Facilitate communications between Cardinal Health and the supplier regarding the Agreement including ensuring participation in Cardinal Health’s Supplier Business Review meetings as scheduled by Cardinal Health’s Vendor Management
  • Ensure that both Parties fulfill their commitments relative to the Agreement
  • Ensure that risk does not inappropriately transfer between the Parties
  • Monitors changes in all associate contractual documents to ensure consistency across the documents and communicate any impacts of proposed changes
  • Prepare appropriate confidential communications, and ensure the integrity of the information provided
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of service agreements, and provide input and guidance to the stakeholders when IT service contract details are unclear
  • Support the stakeholders’ need for information regarding the terms and provisions of IT’s agreements with its strategic suppliers, and act as the go-to resource when issues or disputes arise related to such agreements
  • Support and participate in the informal and formal dispute processes
  • Proactively oversee suppliers’ compliance with contractual terms and conditions, routine attestations and reports, and critical deliverables
  • Facilitate timely problem resolution of contractual issues to minimize impact of service disruptions
  • Monitor, catalog, facilitate meetings, and report on proposed contract changes, including modifications, additions and deletions
  • Develop professional relationships with key stakeholders to assist and drive positive on-going vendor performance and governance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with direct oversight of external supplier delivery
  • 5+ years of leading IT/Business management activities of varying complexity
  • Experience with managing a managed service provider for delivery of IT services preferred
  • Working knowledge of IT standards (ISO 9001; 20000-1; 27000) and service management frameworks (ITIL, CMMI-SVC, etc.) preferred
  • Professional Certifications a plus (PMI, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Knowledge of standards for regulatory compliance within the healthcare space (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, PCI, NIST Framework) preferred
  • Demonstrated success in communicating with key stakeholders/suppliers at senior levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to balance competing requirements and interests, keep team focused on top priorities, and find ways to achieve win-win or obtain acceptance/consensus for best compromise
