Positions in this function are responsible for providing expertise, claim processing and customer service for short and long term disability claims. Authorizes the appropriate payment or refers claims to case managers for further review.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data entry
  • Claim analysis
  • Customer support
  • Customer communications, both written and verbal

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 6+ months customer service experience in a professional office or call center environment
  • Experience with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook with the ability to edit, save and send documents, spreadsheets and manage emails and calendars
  • Ability to work from 8:30am - 5pm M - F with some Saturdays as necessary

Preferred Requirements:

  • Healthcare or Social Service experience
  • Bilingual Spanish - speaking skills

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a computer and use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse
  • Office environment
