What You?ll Do
As a Data Engineer / Scientist at Sogeti P&G Unit in Cincinnati
Practitioner of advanced data modeling and optimization of data and analytics solutions at scale. Familiarity with one or more data-processing languages (Python, R, etc.) with relevant libraries is required. Familiarity with Linux and shell scripting is strongly recommended. Hands-on familiarity with one or more of the following 'big data' repositories -- Hive, Impala, HDFS/Hadoop, Spark, Mongo, NoSQL, etc. -- is also a significant advantage for the candidate.
Candidates with advanced analytics and machine learning experience (Numpy, Pandas, Tensor Flow, etc.) will be especially competitive.
We are looking for leaders who have graduated with a BS or MS in Business/Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, Programming/Software Development, Informatics, Operations Research, Mathematics or Statistics who have the following skills:
Demonstrated mastery in applied big data data technologies such as:
Python, R, SQL
Linux, shell scripting
Hive, Impala, HDFS, Spark, etc.
Relational databases, ER models/diagrams, data-modeling, data mining and data ingestion and transformation
Especially helpful skills include:
AWS or Azure experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills to influence others
Demonstrated use of data and BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, Cloudera, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities
Ability to work collaboratively across functions
Familiarity with consumer-focused data-sets such as point-of-sale, vendor/supplier, profile data, etc.
Experience with packaging/build tools such as sbt, Apache Maven or Ant
Demonstrated skills or are familiar with Big Data technologies (Hive, Impala) and NoSQL databases
Proficiency of data modeling and solution scaling.
Minimum education qualification:
A bachelor's degree in any discipline. MBA or equivalent degree preferred.
