Overview

The General is seeking an experienced Data Services Analyst who is able to identify, define and employ an analytical strategy to proactively and reactively support data investigation.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

The Data Services Analyst II will help empower results for The General’s Claims department by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Data & Analytics needs.

  • Analyze complex business problems
  • Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns from complex datasets
  • Strategically mine claims, policies and other vendor data to identify or confirm trends
  • Develop, implement and maintain business monitoring reports
  • Assist other associates with preparation of reports and use of information systems, software and related resources
  • Provide cross training suited to help end user with most actionable use of reports
  • Participate in strategic initiatives related to process improvements

Job requirements

Who You Are
You have advanced knowledge of relational databases and writing SQL queries in SSMS or SQL Developer. You have a strong technical skillset manipulating and analyzing data via Excel, Python and/or R. You work well independently and in a team atmosphere. You quickly master and utilize various software tools. You excel at communication and build strong relationships across organizations easily.

You bring a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics. You bring 3+ years of data analysis experience, preferably in the Property & Casualty insurance industry. You are experience with data prep and data visualization. You are skilled in Tableau, Qlik, Domo, Alteryx, and/or Trifacta.
