Job description

Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking a Director of Business Development with government contracting experience to lead CompulseGov, our new business initiative dedicated to generating long-term revenue growth through our full suite of digital and broadcast services. 


This candidate will be responsible for leading the identification, qualification and development of a pipeline of business within government agencies.  This candidate should be an effective communicator, able to engage with government executives and buyers to promote and influence government needs toward Sinclair Broadcast Group and CompulseGov.




Responsibilities:



  • Identify, develop, track opportunities for Federal Government contracts

  • Develop and execute detailed strategies for the pursuit of key opportunities

  • Position the company to pursue and win opportunities as they go to market

  • Build, develop, and manage trusted relationships with key agency decision-makers and executives promoting Sinclair Broadcast Group and Compulse

  • Create and deliver effective client presentations and proposals that address the specific needs of a client

  • Successful track record of developing leads, proposal development, and winning contracts with federal agencies

  • Familiarity with federal acquisition vehicles such as GSA schedules

  • Track and manage growth pipeline, maintain the pipeline of qualified opportunities, and support creation of multi-year business strategies related to contracting to achieve sales and revenue targets

  • Ensure budgets and business standards are realistically set and achieved

  •  Work closely with executives and fulfillment team to develop and execute business development plans and coordinate BD efforts to achieve realistic sales and revenue targets

  • Participate in industry days and networking opportunities

  • Mentor and lead others through the government contracting process




Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s in technical or business-related field

  • 5+ years working with government contractors

  • 7+ years in business development

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of various government agencies

  • Experience using SAM, GovWin, Bloomberg Government, GSA eBuy, FedConnect, Beta Sam, or other similar research platforms

  • Successful track record of developing leads, proposal development, and winning contracts with federal agencies

  • Excellent proposal writing and verbal skills with an attention to organization, detail, and quality presentation
