Position Description

The Director, Market Analytics is a hands-on analytics professional with experience in predictive modeling, forecasting, customer analytics and data mining to derive insights and recommendations.  The function will build and deploy the foundational capabilities that will allow for ongoing analysis of consumer and HCP customer experience.  The Director will provide the technical leadership and mentorship for the Market Analysts/Sr Analysts ensuring sound methodologies and best practices are employed by the team.  This role is highly collaborative and works cross-functionally to develop insights to optimize marketing campaigns and programs, track customer experience, project market level forecast and lead opportunity assessments.  This will be accomplished by creating and executing advanced analytics, results presentations and recommendations.

This position will manage a team of analysts, senior analysts and manager level analytic professionals.  It is critical that the individual be able to contribute in a highly matrixed, cross-functional teams to contribute to evidence based-making.  It is essential that this individual be able to synthesize outputs from analytical tools and methods and communicate them to colleagues who are not subject matter experts in a way that they can determine appropriate actions they should take based on the derived insights. 

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Near and long-term forecasting (familiarity with statistical trend/cycle/seasonal methods like exponential smoothing and ARIMA is critical for the number of product lines being projecting; and understand demand driven forecasting and consensus forecasting

  • Drives cross functional alignment and partnership to establish the appropriate application of analytics to CX measurement, ROI analyses, regression analysis, control vs. target, market level forecasting, financial modeling and opportunity assessments

  • Serves as a thought leader to the team in building analyses, troubleshooting issues, and developing analytical approaches

  • Prepares and delivers presentations that allow insights to be readily understood and extracted from large amounts of data

  • Leads in the development, standardization and implementation of customer experience tracking and reporting

  • Organizes and allocates team and other resources efficiently; ensures consistency in analytic methodologies

  • Market sizing and opportunity analysis – secondary research methods, financial analysis, demand modeling, product lifecycle, S-curves, industry knowledge, product development, primary research

  • XM – IT/tech acumen

  • Train and develop staff to product actionable insights

  • Utilizes new technology to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Supports strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests

  • Support department needs for ad hoc reporting          



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters level degree in mathematics, economics or related field (e.g. MBA, MPH, MS) is preferred

  • 10+ years in analytics or finance in a business organization; 7+ years analyzing large data sets and creating data models to inform decision-making

  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects and the flow of information across multiple work groups.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed organization

  • Experience working in a regulated preferred. Experience working within life-sciences and customer experience a plus

  • Project management experience required

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Power Point, Word and Excel and data visualization

  • Ability to prepare and present clear and concise written communications, both in report and presentation formats to stakeholders at all levels including senior executives

  • Highly proficient in a variety of analytical software and statistical tools

  • Thorough understanding of statistics as it relates to analyzing data sets and understanding their limitations

  • Team oriented – ability to lead, motivate and work well with diverse, cross functional teams and in a matrix environment

  • Strong project management, skills; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Proficiency with core business technology tools (MS Office, etc.)
