Accountable for the development, implementation and sustainment of a comprehensive Emergency Response program at the Kankakee site.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
-Develops and implements the Kankakee Emergency Response Plan. Elements of the plan include, but are not limited to:
Escape (egress routes, evacuation, and Shelter in Place)
- Fire Response (alarm pull stations, fire extinguishers, Fire Department notification/arrival)
- Severe Weather (monitoring and alert, shelter, facility closure)
- Power Failure (emergency generators, emergency lighting)
- Bomb Threat (assessment, response)
- Suspicious Package or Device (identification, assessment, response)
- Medical Response (internal first aid/CPR capability, AED/CPR, external EMT notification/arrival)
- Chemical Spill/Release (control, clean up)
- Confined Space Rescue (attendant/monitoring/retrieval, rescue capability)
- Workplace Violence (surveillance, notification/response)
- External Threat (surveillance, lockdown)
-Develops and implements training on the elements of the Emergency Response Plan.
-Resources and maintains response teams as required to execute the Emergency Response Plan (ex. Medical Response Team, Spill Response Team, Evacuation Team).
-Prepares and conducts evacuation drills.
-Establishes and leads the execution of an annual drill plan to test and continuously improve site emergency response readiness.
-Establishes strong partnerships with Facilities, Engineering, and EHS to ensure continued support and compliance with the Emergency Response Plan.
-Serves as the site Incident Commander and the point of contact between CSL and outside agencies.
-Develops and maintains the annual budget to support the Emergency Response Plan.
-Identifies and communicates the ERT resource requirements broadly across multiple functions.
-Maintains a position of emergency response readiness for operations facilities and equipment.
-Develops an auditing program to measure and maintain effectiveness of the emergency preparedness processes.
-Orders, inspects, maintains and coordinates the distribution of emergency equipment. Performs periodic inspections of emergency response supplies to ensure readiness.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelors (BS) preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience developing and implementing Emergency Response Plans.
