Job Description  

As an Engine Testing Technician in this role, you will be responsible for executing test plans in accordance with customer requirements and ensuring that test results are of the highest quality and accuracy.  You will be responsible for installing customer engines and components into test cells, installing instrumentation, setting up test software interface (Cyflex), and maintenance of various measurement devices.  You will be assembling engines, testing engines in dynamometer test cells, testing engine components in various test stands, conducting engine teardowns, and assisting in forensic analysis following teardown.

Interest in engine fundamentals and operation is a must.

We deal with engines with displacements of 1.4L to 95L, from a variety of OEMs.

We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are willing to learn.  The desire to continuously learn and grow is key to this role.

  • Great mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn
  • Installs and sets up test articles, fixtures, test equipment, instrumentation, and controls
  • Execute test plans by following procedures set forth by the customer
  • Perform measurements and initial data quality checks
  • Become proficient at using various systems to operate test equipment
  • Ability to approach problems in a scientific manner and implement resolutions with minimal guidance
  • Ability to verbally and in written communication effectively articulate ideas, operational issues, and test quality issues to customers and managers
  • Maintain a safe working environment through awareness and good housekeeping practices
  • Welding and fabrication skills are a plus
  • Configure test operation system for safe and optimal testing efficiency.
  • Setup data channel configurations and test profiles.   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 or more years’ experience in a durability testing environment. 
  • Experience in equipment maintenance, repair, and diagnostic troubleshooting. 
  • Technician work in a technical industry (automotive, aerospace, industrial, etc.) is a plus.
