What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.
 

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, and business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.

Accountabilities


The SAP CRM technical/functional resource will be responsible for the functional and technical design of custom developed solutions related to supporting Cardinal Health business processes. An ideal candidate should support the following:


  • Ability to design functional specifications, coordinate with the developer for the timely delivery of objects.

  • Ability to lead requirements gathering sessions, understand business need and articulate solutions.

  • Work closely with offshore development teams by conducting code reviews, monitor system performance, and triage inbound defects
  • Work closely with business partner to prioritize features in the backlog.
  • Reviewing ABAP code, building out the technical specifications
  • Responsible for building out the design and maintaining it

  • Familiar with ABAP development, with both custom development and customization to existing processes, including use of RFC, BAPI, BADI, ALV, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Reports and Smart Forms
  • Use tools such as Service Now and JIRA for maintaining and incident management
  • Work in an Agile team
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently verbally and written  

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as a CRM Web UI developer with extensive knowledge in BOL & GENIL development preferred
  • Working knowledge of two or more technologies
  • Experience in SAP CRM Web UI Configuration
  • Experience in SAP CRM One Order Framework and Enhancements
  • Experience in CRM 7.0 development (incl. Custom Web UI, GenIL/BOL, Transaction Launcher, EEWB).
  • Extensive exposure to ABAP Object Orientation, Business Object Layer and AET
  • Experience in Web Services, CTI & ERMS related development.
  • Extensive experience in ABAP development, with both custom development and customizations to existing processes, including use of RFC, BAPI, BADI, ALV, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, Reports and Smart Forms.
  • Extensive experience in CRM – ECC integration.
  • Experience supporting interfaces with third party software.
  • Design the best technical approaches for the given functional designs.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical specifications with detailed knowledge of SAP tables/fields.
  • Able to work in an Agile team

  • Ability to lead requirements gathering sessions, understand business need and articulate solutions.

  • Ability to design functional specifications, coordinate with the developer for the timely delivery of objects.
