Basic Purpose

To implement the Corporate Accounting teams use of data analytics/modeling and strategic analysis projects.  Model and forecast financial quantification and provide strategic options for emerging authoritative guidance. Partner with business units to advise on financial statement impact for strategic growth objectives and business process changes. Automate accounting processes to meet GAAP and auditing standards while maximizing efficiency of available resources.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the developmental and analytical engine of the corporate accounting team to provide financial and strategic insights and support optimal business decision making
• Develop financial models to influence strategic decision making around accounting estimates as either primary model, challenger model or validation model (dependent on financial statement area) within a model governance best practices framework
• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis using analytical techniques, tools, models, simulations, etc. to create quantitative on-top accounting estimates for qualitative adjustments to existing developed models and to support simplifying assumptions
• Implement financial dashboards and work with business intelligence tools
• Obtain quantitative and qualitative data of business processes to analyze, determine and promote data driven decisions
• Prepare/collaborate on presentations, reports, white papers, etc.
• Prepare support for audit requests
• Interpret results of analysis, in particular trending analysis,; present recommendations and explanations for the “what” that is driving the results, provide alternatives and implications
• Serve on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit &/and/or across the organization
• Analyze processes and workflows to understand value chain, input/output, to improve and/or automate business performance
• Utilize performance measurements and indicators to identify areas for improvement; develop process improvement plans for each performance indicator or area identified
• Serve as resource for the resolution of complex and/or unique problems
• Lead project teams; assure quality, consistent performance; meet schedules and/or resolve highly technical and complex problems
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Computer Science a related field of study
• At least two years of relevant experience in financial data analytics
• Strong technical experience required in: SAS, Python, and/or R
• Strong technical experience in Tableau a strong plus
• Strong problem-solving skills including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues
• Strong critical thinking skills including summarizing information and identifying key elements, patterns, results or relationships
• Extensive experience leading large projects/initiatives which have business risks and influence
• Ability to effectively work with diverse internal and external contacts
• Ability to manage competing priorities independently and/or in a team environment
• Advanced project management skills including managing deadlines and resources, and ensuring successful project implementation
• Ability to follow, interpret, and apply relevant data/instructions to guidelines, procedures, practices and regulations
• Must be able to interpret and synthesize large amounts of data
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Office
• Advanced presentation software skills
• Desired – Experience working with financial data particularly at a financial institution. Knowledge of loan life-cycle from origination through payoff/collection/write-off

Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
