Making the Transition

The transition of student nurse into a practicing professional nurse is challenging and often takes one year for the graduate nurse to master. The purpose of the Vizient Nurse Residency Program is to ease this transition of the graduate nurse and to close the gap between student status and professional practice.

Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program

Vizient connects members with opportunities to learn, improve and build. Together with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), participants can access top training resources in their effort to deliver better care. The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) focuses on new graduate nurses as they enter practice with an evidence-based curriculum that delivers on Leadership, Patient Safety Outcomes and Professional Development. All newly hired, newly graduated nurses will participate in the Nurse Residency Program.
