Responsible for engineering support for the Harpoon II+ Re-design program to support the Harpoon II+/SLAM-ER Technical Project Office (TPO) Team on the Strike Weapons Integration (SWI) Support Task Order.
Essential Job Functions:
Provide engineering support for system level testing (missile, pod, aircraft integration, etc.).
Re-design the obsolescent missile and data link pod components.
Support software and system engineering in various areas of the development effort.
Deliver as GFE, a Harpoon II+ warhead.
Meet the very aggressive delivery schedule.
Develop/review system specifications, statements of work, interface control documents, technical data packages (specifications, drawings, etc.).
Identify issues and provide recommendations to mitigate any risks identified within these documents.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline plus 15+ years of relevant experience.
An in depth knowledge of RF principles, radar signal processing techniques, electronic warfare (EW), electronic protection (EP) methods, co-sight analysis, data reduction and analysis processes, and threat system knowledge and impact is required.
Experience is required in Harpoon Hardware In the Loop (HIL) facilities to the extent that the incumbent could provide subject matter expertise input on the validation and verification of a newly developed chamber for radar seeker characterization and performance assessment.
The engineer will be responsible for mentoring junior level RF engineers and overseeing the creation and execution of test plans that will verify system requirements and performance for an obsolescence update to the Harpoon seeker.
The position will require frequent travel to support requirements development, design, testing and analysis tasks as well as interfacing with the program office, prime contractor, and the Naval Research laboratory (NRL).
