                                                                  Information Technology Undergraduate Internship – Summer 2020

PenFed is searching for Information Technology Interns at our Corporate Headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to work directly with a team of Information Technology professionals. You will have the opportunity to acquire experience in business communication, project development skills, and visual design. This paid internship will provide you with knowledge of various aspects of the Information Technology field. You will also receive ongoing time with a mentor throughout your internship to allow for growth and training, helping you to eventually transition into the workforce.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Participate in ideation sessions with other members of the user experience team
  • Train/Work within various functions/roles in PenFed’s Salesforce instance or website functions
  • Train/Work with Declarative functions (configurations) and familiarity of Apex (Salesforce Object Oriented Language), Visualforce (Salesforce UI) and programming skills
  • Assist in translating business requirements that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Utilize Agile methodologies
  • Analyse project-related problems and create innovative solutions
  • Create presentations and other deliverables for teams and leadership
  • Possible minor front-end, development work within Salesforce and/or AEM
  • Work on an exciting group intern project

What We’re Looking for:

  • Student presently in-process of completing their degree in Information Technology, Experience Design, User Experience, Front-End Development (Mobile and/or Web), Digital Design or other another closely related field
  • Passion for learning and growing within the User Experience, Digital Design, and IT
  • Candidate would be strong with system design and process flow
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint) and Adobe
  • Ability to manage time efficiently
  • Creative, energetic, and assertive
  • Ability to be a team player and collaborate closely with other team members

Additional Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled full time in a four-year program with an accredited institution
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior with a minimum of 60+ credits completed prior to June 2020
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must provide copies of your unofficial transcript with initial application and official before internship start date (if selected)
  • Must be able to work at PenFed for the entire timeframe (June 1, 2020 – July 31, 2020)
