Airborne Solutions & Analytics within the Defense Group at Leidos has a dynamic opportunity for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) located at Ft. Bliss, El Paso, TX in support of an airborne asset with multiple network enclaves. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting the organization's information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording and destruction.
•Provide consulting for the design, development, and deployment of Ongoing Assessment, Ongoing Authorization, and other Information Assurance (IA) initiatives
•Provide continuous monitoring to enforce client security policy and procedures and enforce/manage processes that will ensure visibility to system owners on impacts to the security posture of systems
•Ensure system security measures comply with applicable government and program policies.
•Monitor configuration management changes and assess the impact of modifications and vulnerabilities.
•Prepare assessment & authorization packages to obtain approvals to operate, and continuous monitoring of IAW ICD 503, CNSS 1253 and NIST 800-53’s applicable revision.
•Ensure that system security requirements are addressed throughout the project and system lifecycle and communicate deficiencies to the Cybersecurity Manager.
•Ensure effective controls and processes are in place and working effectively to maintain a strong system security posture at the site level.
•Perform vulnerability/risk assessment analyses to support Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities.
•Assist with System security A&A package submissions to ensure consistency, completeness and traceability ensuring compliance
•Develop, maintain, and facilitate the appropriate closure of POA&Ms
•Ensure the development, documentation, and presentation of IS security education, awareness, and training activities for users and others, as appropriate
•Control, label, virus scan, and appropriately transfer data (uploading/downloading) between information systems at varying classification levels
•Manage and enforce security strategies and policies within established guidelines.
•Perform Nessus scans and other vulnerability tool assessments and interpreting the results to provide feedback/recommendations to the Cyber Security Manager, customer ISSO’s and/or Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below.
•A current CompTia Security+ CE Certification
•Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of related work experience required in lieu of a degree
•A DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance, with Polygraph is required. Candidates without this level clearance will not be considered.
•Ability to multitask; adapt to a fast-paced environment, possess the ability to apply analytical, customer service, and critical thinking skills.
•Ability to translate technical information into easily understandable / consumable data by colleagues and customer
