Responsible for a high degree of technical knowledge in the Blood Bank laboratory. Operates and manages staff within the department. Utilizes Blood Bank knowledge and skills to provide guidance and support to the technologists. Takes the lead on quality improvement processes and ensures best possible care and quality outcomes. Writes and reviews policies and procedures. Ensures all standard operating procedures and practices adhere to federal and regulatory agency standards (CLIA, DOH and TJC). Provides training, guidelines, and performance evaluations. Works closely with managerial and supervisory staff in developing, updating and monitoring the achievement of long-range goals and objectives.
- BS degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or other science degree required
- MS degree preferred
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- MT (ASCP) certified
- SBB preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Blood Bank experience
