Quest Diagnostics is building a new product in Bio-Informatics area and shaping the future for the Next Gen Sequencing based application that provides better service to patients/customers. As a Software Engineer, Lead II, you excel at leading and growing varies software engineering team through all aspects of the product development lifecycle. You have excellent project management skills, are a great communicator and are motivated to work in frequently ambiguous, environment. You excel at partnering with R&D teams. You are a leader. Applicants for this role should possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Designs, maintain, develops, enhances, and implements software.
-Maintain, enhance, and grow a top talent engineering team.
-Build and grow the development team in and outside USA.
-Work cross-functionally and collaboratively to develop an application using open source technologies.
-Estimates and scopes development tasks and makes recommendations for innovations and improvements relating to software component designs, including reviewing the work of team members completing elements of designs.
-Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments.
-Work closely with developers and architects to develop the best technical design and approach.
-Work in a fast-paced, agile environment consisting of a cross-functional team designing and implementing systems from the web-based user interface front-end through the back end.
-Implement test-driven development methods, supporting end to end testing.
-Implement security and data protection features.
-Minimum of ten years of experience in responsive web design, web architecture, web development, interface design, or software design.
-3+ years of management experience
-6+ years of Java development experience.
-Solid, judgement, organizational and problem-solving skills.
-Experience developing against relational databases and solid SQL querying skills.
-5+ years’ experience with a Java framework like Spring Boot.
-3+ years’ experience with SQL.
-Experience in usage of JWT, and OAUTH2 tokens for Security.
-Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, Bamboo, SonarQube, AWS knowledge
-Good handle on GIT flow branching strategy and usage of those in CI process.
-Experience with agile development methodologies.
-Knowledge of automated build and deploy processes with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.
-Requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
