Job description
A client of ours is seeking a probate litigation paralegal for their office in West Palm Beach, FL. 

The Paralegal will assist Complex Litigation Defense attorneys in the course of their work, which often involves investigation and/or defending insurance companies against certain claims. Because insurance defense paralegals are not attorneys and have not been admitted to the bars of any state, insurance defense paralegals must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney.
The Paralegal should be familiar with analyzing claim files and records, preparing for hearings, preparing exhibits, pleadings, and discovery, handling case management, file organization, investigations; research and trial support and have knowledge in litigation software programs.

1. Prepares routine or complex legal documents for review by attorneys.
2. Reviews, organizes and summarizes reports and other case materials.
3. Drafts pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, interrogatories/answers, notices of examination under oath, and other legal documents.
4. Assists in deposition preparation, pre-trial investigations, trial preparation, including assistance with preparation of witnesses for deposition and/or trial.
5. Prepares depositions and trial binders.
6. Prepare exhibits and other demonstrative evidence for use at trial.
7. Drafts settlement agreements.
8. Provide assistance at trial.
9. assessment of, selection of and coordination with vendors and outside specialists to assist with tasks that cannot be accomplished with in-house Firm resources alone

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
