Infoscitex is seeking a scientist or engineer experienced in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning techniques to work on projects that develop and evaluate human-centered AI. As a member of our team, you will work in Dayton, OH, and collaborate with teammates in Dayton and Columbus that have backgrounds in multiple disciplines, including: artificial intelligence, human factors, software development, simulation integration, and military Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
In this role, you will work in a collaborative environment with software engineers of varied backgrounds, human factors experts, and other experts in natural language processing and machine learning. You will be the orchestrator, guiding distributed contractor and academic research teams and presenting findings to internal team members, customers, and other venues.
Essential Job Functions:
Your work may include:
Reviewing, analyzing, selecting and implementing algorithms to extract statistical values related to AI-based decision making.
Developing AI-based models to aid in explainability of AI systems and evaluating them in engineering tests.
Designing and finalizing data exchange between systems, establishing a robust API.
Leveraging your knowledge of machine learning and AI in general to identify current methods and novel methods to populate data exchange mechanisms.
Participating in a distributed, agile team’s integration endeavors, and directing a small team of software engineers to fulfill integration requirements.
Preparing proposals for future projects.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least a Master degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field with at least 4 years of related experience. (We have multiple levels associated with this opportunity. Candidates with advanced degrees or varying experience may be considered for alternative classification).

PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field.
Experience with TensorFlow, Torch, PyMC3, or Stan.
Experience with reinforcement learning techniques.
Knowledge of software configuration management.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
