Machine Operator

Shift: 6:30pm-6:30am


What Production Operation contributes to Cardinal Health

Operates light-duty bench- or floor-type machine tools and automation equipment. May set up machining machines, make adjustments and perform maintenance on machines. Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


Accountabilities:


•       Ability to manage and/or provide direction for small group, 


•       Perform set up for products and/or product components, 


•       Have manual dexterity to operate hand tools to perform preventative maintenance activity, 


•       Ability to use material handling equipment,


•       Able to produce quality product in sync with scheduled requirements,


•       Ability to multitask, 


•       Ability to monitor machine and product on recurring basis, 


•       Responsible for anticipating material requirements and preparing/staging at production line


•       Understand machine parts and process flow in relation to making adjustments or problem solving decisions, understand and manage priorities of work


•       Possess intermediate leadership skills (i.e. managing time, breaks, etc.), 


•       Test product on a predetermined frequency


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-3 years related work experience and/or training preferred
