Job description
Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Material Handler (3rd Shift) for our LuK USA facility in Wooster, OH to report to the Production Supervisor.  This position is responsible for producing components that exceed customer requirements and expectations.
Key duties include but not limited to:
  • Responsible for supervising Machine Operators and working as a team with the
  • Responsible for the flow of materials to and from their assigned segment area
  • Frequently sample weight components and enter the weight into the material master data in SAP
  • Have the ability to look up materials for location and quantity in SAP
  • Book material from one storage area to a Production Supply Area (PSA) and vice versa
  • Physically verify the accuracy of the inventory at the segment, as well as within the SAP System
  • Follow up on inventory inaccuracies and to help implement improvements in systems and procedures to improve these in the SAP system
  • Facilitate the improvement of the material store areas and to maintain high levels of housekeeping per LuK standard
  • Support the other segments drivers by staging material from the block store areas and by staging packaging material for the segments
  • Will be trained to fill in for the other material handlers in segments as required and communication skills are essential to successful performance in this position
  • Safely operate material handling equipment and adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices
  • Will be required to work during the annual Physical Inventory
  • Regularly required to stand in stationary position
  • Use hands to maneuver objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance
  • Sit; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear
  • Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds based on component specifications
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Know and understand the current specifications of the Quality Policy and procedures, as well as the Safety and Environment Policy and procedures and contribute to the achievement of the company objectives
  • Carry out tasks assigned by his supervisor that are essentially related to his duties
