Infoscitex (IST), a DCS company, has an outstanding opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to assist in the development, assembly, and documentation of an R&D test laboratory. You will be involved with piping and valving, and assisting others in the safe operation and maintenance of an altitude simulation environment related to avionic oxygen systems research, testing, and development.
In this role, you could expect to:
Install and maintain valves, pumps, piping, unistrut, gauges, instrumentation transducers, and compression fittings in a gaseous and fluids R&D test environment.
Perform recurring and nonrecurring maintenance to pumps, gauges, and related test equipment.
Perform basic electronic wiring activities with supervision.
Assist more senior technical personnel as needed, and turn to same for direction as needed.
Assists in the operation of an R&D test facility using evolving checklists, operating instructions, and emergency operating procedures.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
At least an AS degree in industrial maintenance, robotics, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, related discipline, and at least 2 years of related experience. (There are multiple levels associated with this opportunity category. Candidates with advanced degrees or varied levels of experience may be considered for alternative classification.)

Understanding of the importance of high oxygen concentration safety practices.
Ability to follow schematic diagrams of mechanical systems.
Basic understanding of the safe use and function of small hand tools and power tools.
Basic understanding and use of Microsoft Office products for record keeping and information archiving.
Working understanding of valves and pressure fittings assembly and selection thereof for gas and fluid systems.
Understanding of the basic operation of pneumatic and hydraulic system operations and related piping and valves.
Understanding of the fundamental safety aspects of industrial devices under pressure / vacuum and basic electrical safety.
Ability to perform installation of pipes, valves, Unistrut, Swagelok fittings, mechanical and electronic gauges, and associated support apparatus in a professional and orderly manner.
Ability to perform basic wiring activities under supervision.
Familiarity and basic proficiency with Windows operating system and MS Office applications.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
