Job description
Mortgage Compliance and Quality Manager
M-F 8 am to 4:30 pm
$75-90K annually depending on experience

Job Description
*    Keep abreast of, monitor, and analyze developing trends and changes in regulatory compliance laws, rules, and regulations, state and national legislation, and investor requirements and advise on the operational impact of such trends and changes. 
*    Participate in, and review proposed changes, to mortgage department policies and procedures for compliance, and provide recommendations for any necessary changes
*    Conduct training for all new and existing employees on an ongoing basis
*    Conduct research of individual regulatory-related matters, identify and communicate regulatory compliance deficiencies or potential problems, and provide guidance in the development of alternative solutions or implementation of corrective action
*    Report regulatory matters, concerns, and the overall compliance condition of the division to the Corporate Compliance Manager
*    Review and advise on the development of home mortgage division forms, marketing materials, agreements, and disclosures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and investor requirements 
*    Manage all pre-funding and post-closing quality control audits to meet requirements of Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, and portfolio mortgages 
*    Act as the main contact with the division's third-party auditing vendor
*    Act as the main contact with secondary market investors in all areas of compliance and quality 
*    Prepare and deliver monthly and ad hoc compliance and quality control reports to management
*    Function as a liaison with federal and state examiners during compliance related examinations
*    Draft and maintain compliance and quality control policies and procedures

*    Extensive knowledge of home mortgage origination, processes, rules, and requirements
*    Extensive knowledge of various mortgage products
*    Strong interpersonal skills, judgement and leadership capabilities
*    Well-developed skills in verbal and written communication as well as public speaking
*    Excellent ability to analyze, conduct thorough research, interpret and understand law and regulations, and provide workable recommendations and solutions to issues
*    Comfortable working in a complex, competitive, and rapidly changing environment
*    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or four years of equivalent work experience
*    Expert knowledge of Encompass Software and its reporting capabilities
*    Proficient in MS Office with a concentration in using Excel
*    5 years of management experience with a credit union or other financial institution in the mortgage space specifically in a mortgage compliance or quality control function
