Patient Registration Representative 

We are currently hiring in our Patient Access departments in Michigan (Madison Heights, Rochester Hills, Warren, Detroit and Tawas City, MI). We offer Part-Time, Full-Time and PRN positions that vary in hospital departments. The shifts can include days, afternoon, overnight and weekends.

The Patient Registration Representative (PRR) will be responsible for accurate and timely patient registration utilizing medical systems. This position assigns ICD-10 and CPT codes relative to patient registration and utilizes facility medical necessity tools to verify appropriate diagnosis and coverage criteria. This work needs to be performed according to established policies and procedures while providing exceptional customer service to physicians, patients, family members and all other medical professionals. In addition to the day to day responsibilities, PRR's actively participate in quality improvement and innovative change processes as well as departmental meetings and educational offerings. 

Required Qualifications: 
• High school diploma or GED required (medical education/certification a plus). 
• Customer Service Experience working in an extremely fast-paced environment (healthcare environment a plus). 
• Computer savvy with experience navigating between multiple systems simultaneously (call center experience a plus) 
• Must have MS Office Experience and excellent typing skills (minimum 28WPM preferred) 
• Must have a high degree of customer service skills in order to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, physicians and care teams. 
• Must demonstrate problem-solving abilities and high attention to detail. 
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit and move freely for extended periods of time 
• Must be able to work in a patient care environment with exposure to infection and/or contagious disease. 
• Schedule Flexibility a plus! 

Desired Qualifications: 
• Experience working in a healthcare environment 
• Completed a Medical Terminology class 
• Certification in healthcare access preferred
