The Patient Services Representative Coordinator works collaboratively with the physician and operational service line leadership to provide coverage, guidance and oversight for front office workflow and patient experience. Main duties include scheduling all patient office appointments, managing medical insurance information, receiving and checking out all patients that enter the office and supporting the medical staff's administrative operations. Communicating with patients for in and out processing by phone or in person is a key and essential task of the job.
Responsible for the following duties: Checking in and out all patients that enter the office. Responsible for scheduling all patient office appointments to include placing all patient information into the electronic medical record system. Become educated on medical insurance to include inputting medical insurance data into the record system and advising patients on their insurance plan. Must be organized and able communicate effectively by phone and in person. Required to manage money and process COPAY transactions via check, cash, or credit card. Responsible for properly filing and managing faxes, patient data, legal and all medical correspondent letters and requests for information from outside offices. Responsible for keeping the waiting room clean and orderly. Required to relay information from providers and track all phone encounters from patients and staff. Will be required to safeguard patient data and follow all HIPPA rules and regulations. Additional duties to support providers, medical personnel and manager will be required.
