Job description
Our Computer accessories client located in Newark CA is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist.

Provide support to internal and external customers for payroll processing, inquiries, assistance and data verification with an emphasis on providing excellent customer service in an accurate, professional and timely manner. This position is responsible for assisting with data entry and payroll processing. This position also encompasses other key responsibilities in supporting other departments within the company.
Core Accountabilities:
  • Provide the highest quality customer service to associates and external vendors/agencies in a timely manner so as to stay true to the legacy
  • Assist in the processing for the US and Canada payrolls (approx. 1200 employees)
  • Assist in resolving payroll issues through audits and communication
  • Online entry of manual paychecks and stop payments
  • Assist with special projects as requested
  • May be called upon to assist with monthly journal entries and monthly reconciliations
  • Assist People & Culture with wage verifications for outside agencies
  • Provide year-end support such as W2-C.  Understand when a W2-C is required. 
  • Prepare and record W2-C using the Dayforce application  
  • Assist and support Payroll Manager and team as needed Filing and archiving payroll data

  • Ability to evaluate assignments and to prioritize workload based on a definite timeframe for completion
  • Microsoft Office computer proficiency, including Excel and Word
  • Clear understanding of best practice
  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce system
  • Computer savvy with the ability to quickly learn computer programs
  • Ability to research and interpret government laws and regulations 
  • Minimum 2 year multi-state automated payroll experience and use of Ceridian system preferred
  • High level customer service experience
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a high volume, fast paced corporate environment
  • AA preferred, or experience equivalent
  • High School with some basic accounting education
  • Minimum Degree Required: Associate's Degree (Community College, MBO)
