  • Job Description:
The Senior Payroll Specialist reports to the Controller and will be responsible for performing tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records in addition to assisting in other areas of the accounting department.  Candidate must be able to multitask and manage time efficiently.  This role offers excellent compensation, opportunities for career growth, and our corporate benefits package (including 20 days PTO, holidays, corporate paid events, and various performance bonuses).
  • Process, validate and transmit multi-state, semi-monthly payrolls
  • Process manual payroll checks as needed
  • Work closely with Human Resources to process new hires, rehires, terminations, changes, direct deposits, W-4, 403B contributions and other benefits, garnishments and withholdings
  • Process garnishments, stop payments as needed
  • Execute time and attendance processing and record annual leave earned and used in the general ledger
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll
  • Work with payroll vendor to ensure appropriate and timely maintenance of state registrations for payroll tax withholdings and related employee reporting
  • Work with payroll vendor to ensure appropriate and timely completion of payroll tax filings
  • Preparation and recording of payroll journal entries and maintain balance sheet payroll related account reconciliation.
  • Support requests from external auditors and tax preparation consultants
  • Verify and/or process accurate and timely quarterly and year-end reporting including reconciling W-2s to the general ledger
  • Reconcile and process payroll vendor invoices
  • Process timesheet corrections
  • Process funding to 401K plan
  • Setup Deltek logins for new hires
  • Assignment of charge code to employee with supervisor approval
Required Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of payroll taxes
  • At least 3 years of full cycle payroll experience
  • Working knowledge of ADP
  • GL Reconciliation and payroll journal entries experience
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Deltek CostPoint
