A Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in his/her professional responsibilities in providing pharmacy services. Working under the direction of a licensed
pharmacist, participates in the preparation, dispensing, distribution and return of patient specific medications including intravenous admixtures, supplies and
maintains automated technology equipment, packages unit of use dosages, maintains and transports pharmaceuticals, and performs tasks associated with
regulatory compliance. Documents activities such as temperature controls records, cleaning the 797 and 800 sterile rooms, all compounding records.
Will be required to work in both I.V.and Chemotherapy sterile room.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association. Required upon hire or within the first 3
months of employment
