A Phlebotomist is responsible for performing phlebotomy, point of care testing on multiple platforms and EKG tracings. In addition, incumbents are expected to correctly identify patients, handle patient registration, maintain a working knowledge of both the laboratory and hospital information systems and tools, provide dispatching or coordinating of collections and perform procedures in a standardized, accurate manner with knowledge of the parameters of acceptability and critical
limits. Out patient couriers are responsible for collecting specimens at multiple sites using company vehicle. Outpatient phlebotomists may be asked to travel to multiple sites per shift. Phlebotomists are expected to perform other duties as required or assigned.
*High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Non Degree Program: Phlebotomy or MA courses (Preferred)
Certification and Licensure Requirements:
*If role requires the use of a hospital owned vehicle, a valid PA driver's license with appropriate driving record
is required. (Required)
ASCP PHLEBOTOMIST CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
BLS CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
NCA PHLEBOTOMIST CERTIFICATION (Preferred)
Experience and Skills:
0-1 Year Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience in a hands on setting (Preferred)
