Job description

Quality Engineer
Faurecia Emissions Control Systems NA, LLC seeks Quality Engineer in Louisville, KY, to implem't process programs to ensure manufacture of emiss'ns control systems & compon'ts meets customer reqs. Nat'l & internat'l travel 10%. Duties: review design & process changes to determine their effect on emiss'ns control product performance; develop, implement & maintain appropriate inspect'n systems (incl FMEA, sampl'g processes & process control procedures) to ensure quality specs & standards are met; participate in APQP activities & create PPAP documentat'n & review w/ customers; facilitate train'g of plant personnel on inspect'n methods & procedures & quality processes; apply quality tools (statistical process control) & data analysis methodologies to improve quality & assembly processes for product'n of emissions control products; lead responses to customer complaints & manage corrective act'ns relat'g to quality-related activities; participate in establishm't & implementat'n of quality specs, test'g procedures & standards for processed & finished goods; ensure compliance w/ QS9000 & IATF16949 standards & w/ customer reqs for all initial product'n part submiss'ns; assist in maintenance & analysis of repeatability & reproducibility calculat'ns for gauge & gauge calibrat'n; monitor & update quality documentat'n; evaluate quality of stainless steel tub'g, tube manipulat'n, converters & weld'g integrity to ensure highest quality & lowest cost. Min edu req: Bachelor in Industrial Eng'g or Quality Eng'g, or foreign equiv degree. Min exp req: 2 yr exp in quality eng'g posit'n w/ Tier-1 auto supplier. Special skills req: Must have 2 yr exp in each of follow'g: review'g customer blueprints (incl GD&T data) to determine mfg processes for emissi'ns control systems & compon'ts; apply'g OEM quality reqs incl traceability & leak rate; perform'g weld analysis (incl destruct'n test'g) to evaluate weld'g integrity (weld penetrat'n, porosity, cold weld, undercut & weld fus'n); perform'g internal quality audits to validate weld parameters, leak testers airflow, poke yoke & scrap; liais'g w/ customer to develop PPAP documentat'n; calculat'g gauge calibrat'n & develop'g preventative maintenance for gauges.
