Job description

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Participation in PPAP, APQP and internal audits. Help prepare for external audits.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to work methods and procedures.
  • Assist in leading continuous improvement initiatives including 6-S, Lean and Zone Leadership programs.
  • Work with Quality in gauge R&R and calibration of gauges/testing equipment.
  • Assist in identifying root cause(s) of non-conforming product and suggest corrective/preventative actions.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering team to ensure procedures and documentation are current.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask and be able to relate to both leadership across multiple functions and hourly union workforce.
  • Video Inspection Work Instructions.
  • Repairing process work instructions
  • Uploading documents into business online technical library
  • Organizing electronic and physical files
  • Updating quality databases/reports
  • Review of customer escapes and complaints, quality work packages, scrap and rework and records.
  • Utilize quality tools in order to identify root cause and mistake proofing, in order to reduce and eliminate customer escapes.
  • Investigate defective material and customer returned material to reduce defects and prevent escapes.
  • Performs all other assignments as directed.

Qualifications: 

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Ability to multitask and be able to relate to both leadership across multiple functions and hourly union workforce.


Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering program with junior or senior level status.
