What Scientific contributes to Cardinal Health

  • Scientific is responsible for Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Microbiology and other Biotechnology and Life-science related disciplines performing basic and applied research to provide innovative solutions for internal and customer funded projects.


  • Work with marketing to develop a pipeline of new projects to achieve commercial objectives
  • Act as the “Voice of Technology” within the organization
  • Participate in complex root cause analysis as a consultant
  • Direct “Tiger Teams” to rapidly assess technical feasibility for new technologies
  • Generate order of magnitude cost assessment for new technologies
  • Document and share projects with development teams once assessment is complete
  • Work with Intellectual Property to assess the landscape of new project areas and generate invention disclosures for new inventions
  • Manage a small team driven to facilitate the innovation process


  • Education: Masters/bachelors in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant discipline
  • Experience: 10 years of product development experience including embedded system development and technology research desired. Experience managing a small team preferred.
