What Business Analysis contributes to Cardinal Health


Business Analysis is responsible for deeply understanding the business in multiple functional areas and across Business Units, as well as understanding the application landscape and capabilities. They maintain relationships with the business and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to enable improved business processes to drive business success. They align business strategies and capability needs into business and technical requirements to ensure IT systems enable the desired value.

  • Knows and executes best practices for business analysis processes and functions (from an industry and strategic standpoint), including requirements elicitation methods. Knows emerging trends.
  • Defines requirements in accordance with SDP/SDLC, management and project/product scope. Ensures problem statements and objectives are clearly defined. Ensures requirements are aligned to project scope, objectives and strategies.
  • Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Mediates across different IT teams utilizing knowledge of IT and roles and responsibilities within the organization.
  • Focuses on process analysis and re-engineering, with an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent listening, communication, and facilitation skills.

Accountabilities


Cardinal Health EIT has identified “Intelligent Automation” as a key strategic initiative, and is investing in a broader enterprise-wide transformational program (AAA) to align action against the company’s vision and objectives. We are seeking an experienced Systems Analyst to join a newly formed, Digital intelligent Automation team. The team intends to be fully agile, building various automation applications within the enterprise such as chatbots, voicebots, RPA, ML solutions, etc.  High-level team responsibility will include:

  •  Process Analysis / Opportunity Assessment and create Roadmap for execution
  • Build Opportunity Pipeline & Manage Opportunity Lifecycle
  • Idea Incubation, Design Thinking, Conducting POCs / POVs
  • Planning and delivery execution of enterprise-grade intelligent and ML based solutions
  •  Enabling Automation Capabilities for enterprise-wide reuse (Playbooks, Reference Architecture,, Products, BotStore, etc.)
  •  Developing and fostering a culture of “Create”, “Consult”, and “Cultivate"

​The Senior Systems Analyst will function in an agile development environment and is responsible for leading the elicitation of detailed requirements from the Product Owner and other subject matter experts and stakeholders to define epics, features and detailed stories at sufficient detail to enable efficient and predictable delivery. This role would need to maintain relationships with Product Owners, subject matter experts and stakeholders, and leverage requirements engineering practices and methods to define solutions to ensure products enable the desired value.

  • Process Analysis / Opportunity Assessment
  • Present automation capabilities to business leaders
  • Demonstrate RPA, AI, ML products and value to the business
  • Participate in Gemba Walks, Job Shadowing and Process Assessments with business SMEs – with a focus on harvesting automation use cases
  • Document As-Is processes and conceptualize To-Be process with Automation
  • Work on building business case
  • Leads practices to enable clear prioritization such as Business Driven Development (Story Mapping), Three Amigos processes, creation of testable requirements, release planning and iteration planning, etc.
  • Defines detailed, granular and development-ready stories. Ensures stories align to stated product goals and drive product metrics.
  • Extracts and articulates systems design from informal process descriptions by users
  • Interpolates user and Product Owner needs from informal descriptions of wants
  • Leads elicitation sessions using variety of requirements gathering methods such as interviews, documentation analysis, surveys, site visits, shadowing, business models with executives, managers, developers and subject matter experts.
  • Facilitates the team through the analysis of, and makes recommendations towards, complex business decisions.
  • Own governance and reporting dashboards
  • Manage and update Jira Boards
  • Work closely with developers on innovation POC’s and POV’s
  • Ramp Up quickly on new technologies such as RPA, ChatBots, VoiceBots and Machine Learning
  • Mediates across different delivery teams utilizing knowledge of business and technology, and roles and responsibilities within the organization. 

Track/Level: P4 -- Individual contributor role

  • Applies advanced knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to manage a wide variety of projects.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
  • Recommends new practices, processes, metrics, or models
  • Works on or may lead complex projects of large scope
  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Projects may have significant and long-term impact
  • Provides solutions which may set precedent
  • Independently determines method for completion of new projects
  • Receives guidance on overall project objectives
  • Will assist in testing and logging/tracking defects as needed
  • Will assist in supporting and documenting requested enhancements to applications as needed

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 8+ years experience in related field preferred
  • Expert in Agile development techniques
  • Experience in Intelligent Automation Technologies (RPA, ChatBots, AI, ML) is a plus
  • Able to co-locate with the development team or business partners/SME’s
  • May need travel (domestic)
