What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health


Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.


  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in performing effective analysis to investigate business problems, identify and expose root causes, identify and evaluate options, and recommend solutions
  • Design and build end-to-end business solutions which solve process pain points, optimize the use of technology, and are in line with industry best practices and Cardinal Health’s development guidelines
  • Guide ABAP development, and the work of any augmented staff resources
  • Develop REST APIs per industry standard to expose data to Front end in a reliable and secure way.
  • Contribute to and enforce coding standards, involve in code review through GIT flow process.
  • Promote innovation, creative thinking, communication, and collaboration among team members.
  • Familiar with Agile development and continuous delivery methodologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Perform complex ABAP programming, testing and debugging functions related to the implementation of SAP modules
  • Experience with ABAP on HANA environment on CDS views
  • Experience in ALE / IDOC, EDI, BADI, USER-EXIT and LSMW
  • Experience in ODATA and UI5
  • Extensive exposure to ABAP Object Orientation, Business Object Layer and BOPF
  • Candidate must have good understanding of CIF
  • Experience in SAP CRM Web UI Configuration
  • Experience in CRM 7.0 development (incl. Custom Web UI, GenIL/BOL, Transaction Launcher, EEWB, AET)
  • Experience in Web Services, CTI & ERMS related development.
  • Have worked on web application development using Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
  • Have good understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Typescript.
  • Have worked on Angular 7 and above, developing components and consuming REST APIs.
  • Have knowledge on consuming SOAP services using Spring framework.
  • Have developed REST Services / API using Spring Boot with any relational / document database as backend.

Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrating proficiency in SAP ABAP.
  • Keeping up to date with advances in SAP solutions.
  • Demonstrating a general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
  • Planning and executing system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Demonstrating conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
  • Demonstrating problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
  • Analyzing production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. 
  • Providing estimates and options analysis for high level business requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP ABAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of three or more technologies is required (e.g., SAP ABAP with HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP CRM Web UI, JAVA with Spring Boot, Angular JS)
  • Full stack Java Development with Spring Boot
  • Experience with Angular 2 and JMS
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Knowledge of Agile Development
