As the Network Engineer Lead, you will provide leadership to a team of network engineers and be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure. You will get the opportunity to support multiple parallel project efforts to integrate new applications and services with the network, integrate new network technologies, scale the network as necessary and lifecycle hardware and software as appropriate.


  • Provide leadership to a team of network engineers
  • Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices, including routers, aggregators, switches and firewalls
  • Perform network security design and integration
  • Diagnose problems and solve issues, often under time constraints
  • Provide network and host based security, incident response, firewall and VPN management and administration
  • Implement the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction
  • Assist in the development of guidelines and procedures for administration and security best practices
  • Provide network documentation
  • Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and recommend/implement solutions;
  • Manage projects and maintenance tasks in ticketing system
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet team goals and improve processes and practices
  • Actively participate in knowledge transfer - serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and be willing to provide strong, consistent technical advisement and mentorship; drive documentation efforts and the adoption of enterprise standards
  • Research and learn (as necessary) new, emerging technologies; proactively seek (autonomously and collaboratively) to find solutions to enable business needs; drive the identification of process inefficiencies, provide informed recommendations and drive the implementation of related solutions
  • Actively collaborate and solve problems across multiple technology teams, creating solutions that are co-developed, coordinated for seamless delivery, and have an enterprise mindset
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

This position will require:

  • B.A. or B.S. in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network infrastructure including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
  • CCIE certification or demonstrated equivalent work experience
  • Ability to engineer, build, and test networks for optimum throughput and reliability
  • Serve as an escalation point for issues that require advanced troubleshooting outside the scope of the Network Engineer I-III Roles
  • Have expert knowledge of:
  • Configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and support of network equipment
  • Firewall group policy, rules, objects, zones, and virtualization
  • Routing, switching, and WAN technologies
  • Network design concepts and HLD/LLD documentation
  • QoS.
  • Network protocols, filtering, and segmentation
  • DHCP and DNS
  • Have advanced knowledge of:
  • TLS and IPSEC VPN Technologies
  • Access control and remote access technologies.
  • Network software upgrade processes
  • Wireless design concepts, configuration, management, and design documentation
  • Colocation network services and cloud network integration.
  • Regulatory compliance and data sensitivity (PCI, PII, CPNI, legal holds, etc.)
  • Network monitoring tools
  • Innovative and emerging network technologies
  • Have firm knowledge of software defined networking and network function virtualization
  • Have prior experience working in an enterprise level LAN/WAN environment:
  • Over 2000 network endpoints
  • Multiple datacenter environment
  • Over 100 distinct network locations
  • Have expert troubleshooting/support experience with:
  • Wired and wireless LAN/WAN and relative network protocols
  • VLANs
  • IP Subnetting
  • Wired and wireless network protocols
  • Possess strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills: Be able to understand and communicate complex topics with simplicity across organizational boundaries and up/down the management chain
