Supervises all non-administration production support departments including but not limited to: pyramid services, sanitation, land nutrient management, transportation, feed haul contractors, live haul contractors, maintenance contractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned by manager.
Responsible to lead improvement that will result in improved profitability.
Plans, directs, and coordinates support activities to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished.
Leads efforts to ensure alignment & implementation with all management systems
Ensures implementation of continuous improvement procedures to develop company staff, lower variation and improve production.
Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures and other management practices through periodic monitoring.
Provide training and information from various sources to increase knowledge and development staff.
Work with Support groups, Pig flow scheduling, Feedmill, Supply, Accounting, and
Human Resources on a professional level, utilizing them to improve systems.
Ensures implementation and support to various certification initiatives that exist in the SPG business including Animal Welfare, Biosecurity, Environmental and others that apply.
Manages financial performance by controlling costs, budgeting, business and financial planning and tracking financial activity via P&L review.
Ensures safety procedures are in place, monitoring managers to reinforce the need to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries.
Ensures all company assets have preventative and routine maintenance occurring in a timely and effective manner.
