What Product or Services Marketing contributes to Cardinal Health

Product and Solutions Marketing is responsible for defining the product/service market strategy and life cycle management, including customer needs identification, market research, product/service offering, pricing, positioning, promotion, and branding.

  • Exhibits ability to translate market and customer needs into clearly defined goals, objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive sales and profitability for the business
  • Accountable for gaining and driving cross-functional support from all stakeholders; works effectively and collaboratively across all cross-functional groups and global partners
  • Identifies and remains current on global market trends and competitive positioning
  • Determines product/service life cycle implications and makes recommendations to maintain market competitiveness and to achieve sustainable economic success
  • Accountable for product data management, including but not limited to data enrichment and product discontinuations, in accordance with relevant internal standard operating procedures
  • Understands methods to execute primary market research necessary to drive portfolio/product decisions; identifies market opportunities through secondary market research and takes action by implementing and managing solutions that meet customer needs
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of marketing disciplines and concepts necessary for business/marketing plan development, product branding, and product remediation
  • Demonstrates strong financial acumen and logical decision making in the general business environment; understands and demonstrates sound thought processes as they relate to assessing financial implications

  • Applies working knowledge and understanding of relevant concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and execute projects

  • Work reviewed for sound reasoning and accuracy


  • B.S. degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in related field, preferred
  • Medical device or healthcare product management experience, preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient computer skills and understanding of software platforms, databases, and systems, including but not limited to Agile
  • Experience with product data management, including but not limited to data enrichment and product discontinuations
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and prioritization to deliver on business commitments in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time
