The UI/UX front-end developer will be a key member of a dynamic digital team focused on maintaining and improving the digital experience for Windstream online users. This individual will be responsible for supporting the technical development of web content for Windstream’s Residential (windstream.com) and Small Business (smallbusiness.windstream.com) web properties.

 

The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with experience in user experience definition and user interface design. He will need to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

 

In such a role, this individual will work to ensure that content, messaging, promotions, etc. being displayed on the portal fall within acceptable guidelines as established by Windstream and help to meet company goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on, front-end development of websites using Kentico CMS.
  • Works with web team members to create well-designed, responsive, testable and efficient web pages following best practices.
  • Serves as key point of contact for creating, monitoring web support tickets in JIRA and guaranteeing their resolutions.
  • Collaborates with web, product and marketing teams to match visual design intent, ensures high quality UI and UX design that are consistent with branding and styling standards.
  • Adapts, maintains and optimizes existing web applications and services using stakeholder feedback to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Contributes to project planning, identifying and prioritizing all deliverables needed to fulfill project requirements pertaining to this position.
  • Gathers and reports analytics and metrics on web application and service effectiveness to identify possible improvements.
  • Work with third party vendors for A/B testing, UX insights and for updating our virtual agent.
Computer Skills:
  • Understand Web design
  • Strong background and knowledge of best practices with front-end programming languages, including HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Proficiency working in web content management systems. Experience working with Kentico is a plus
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC products (e.g., Acrobat, Photoshop and Illustrator)
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work with graphics, visual design and layout, brainstorming creative ideas while maintaining brand standards
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype, etc.)
  • Experience working with Clicktale and Monetate is a plus

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • 4+ years professional level experience with content management systems (CMS), online databases, and other online “tools”
  • Previous UX/Graphical design experience
  • Passion for and thorough understanding of digital marketing and online capabilities
  • Good analytical skills; the ability to prioritize projects
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Capability to work on simultaneous projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong people and presentation skills
