The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing general ledger entries, performing account reconciliations and analyzing expense and revenue variance. Additional accounting responsibilities will be assigned within the accounting structure as needed.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collects and analyzes data for preparation of journal entries. Inputs journal entries into the general ledger system. Prepares monthly reconciliations. Performs financial analysis. Utilizes Lawson and AP Scanning for variance analysis. Assists with preparation of detailed financial statements Prepares audit schedules. Participates in the annual budgeting process including personnel, revenue and operating expenses.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2 years relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Skill in using a calculator, PC, printer, and photocopier. Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Previous experience with a computerized general ledger. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Self-motivated and independent, able to work with a minimum of supervision. Knowledge of the medical industry and insurance billing a plus.
