Basic Purpose

This is a leadership position that works under minimal supervision and is responsible for leading a team of analysts in the development of simulation models to be used for capacity planning and process improvement in Lending. The successful applicant will demonstrate technical expertise in simulation modeling and strong project management skills. Additional responsibility includes identifying and recommending solutions, practices, and innovative technologies to enhance existing modeling capacity, and maintaining awareness of market trends.

Our department strives to continuously improvement the business of lending through high-impact, independent data analysis that maximize value return to our membership while effectively managing risk. You will be working with teams of diverse analytical backgrounds, including business intelligence, predictive modeling, and optimization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise full-cycle simulation model development to ensure high quality deliverables on time
• Guide the team on advanced analytics techniques, including simulation modeling, operations research, optimization, and statistical modeling
• Provide conclusions and recommendations to stakeholders based on the model outcome and business unit goals
• Consult with stakeholders and business partners to effectively define goals, KPIs, and actions plans
• Maintain awareness of market trends and new developments in simulation and quantitative modeling
• Perform managerial responsibilities, including hiring and developing staff
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications – All required unless otherwise noted

• Master’s Degree in Operations Research or a related quantitative field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in simulation modeling (discrete event, agent based, system dynamic, etc)
• Advanced knowledge of simulation modeling software such as AnyLogic, Arena, Flexsim, etc
• Advanced knowledge of data manipulation and statistical modeling software such as SQL, SAS, R, Python
• Experience in supervising and leading employees and managing technical projects
• Ability to communicate highly complex technical concepts to non-technical and senior management staff using excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple duties to achieve results in a multi-tasked, time sensitive office environment
• Experience in project leadership and execution, including initiatives with technology, processes, cross-functional teams and external partner team members
• Demonstrated skill in project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation
• Skill in establishing and maintaining working relationships with all levels of employees, management, stakeholders, and vendors
• Desired – PhD in Operations Research or a related quantitative field
• Desired – Understanding of the financial services environment
